Happy #monday friends! โœจ itโ€™s a new week, a new beginning. We had a fulfilling and low key weekend at home ๐Ÿก the kids helped us plant a new little garden box and we decluttered our patio which was getting a little out of control. Itโ€™s now a nice relaxing space, ahhhh. โœจ while I feel the heaviness of recent events, I must selfishly admit Iโ€™m feeling lighter too. Stepping away from the news to be with the ones who really matter, taking pleasure in the simple things - itโ€™s all been a really grounding experience for us. For me, itโ€™s the scent of peeling an orange, itโ€™s the smell of dirt and herbs, itโ€™s the kids being amazed by a cricket, thatโ€™s the good stuff. โœจ what simple pleasures have you taken in lately? Would love to know! #phoenixgardening #containergardening #thyme #kidsgardening #phoenix #arizona #desertgardening

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a sustainable and seasonally delicious way to eat and shop while supporting local farmers. Hereโ€™s what we got from our Singh Farms basket this week.

Itโ€™s Friday, and Iโ€™m angry-scone making in my stories. Used @greatgrubdelicioustreats Apple Pecan Scone recipe and something about freshly cracking and roasting #pecans from your own backyard makes them even better. โœจalso the blogs name starts with great as well as my bakeware set @greatjones so Iโ€™m trying to channel all the greatness into having a great Friday. Hope youโ€™re able to do the same! #TGIF

Hi, audria the gumshoe botanist here, investigating things one herb, plant, shrub and fruit at at a time. ๐ŸŒณ ๐Ÿƒ Ive come across a few findings that have shaken me to my core, evidence suggests that a banana tree is the worldโ€™s largest herb while a pecan is in fact, not a nut at all. ๐ŸŒฐ ๐Ÿฟ Iโ€™ll need to gather some more leads and evidence before I draw any conclusions or bring anyone down to the station for questioning. But Iโ€™m on to some pretty crazy conspiracies here.

Hi, audria the gumshoe botanist...

I made myself quite the to do list to accomplish on my week off from work. I can feel the days slipping away from me as these monumental tasks take up half or most of the day. Yesterday I carved out time to be with The Flower Bungalowโ€™s flora and fauna. The simple pleasures of life have really carried me through an emotionally heavy time recently. @the.holistic.psychologist calls it the โ€œdark night of the soulโ€ and I think Iโ€™m finally getting through the muck of it all. When the pandemic hit I was already wading through a wave pool of existential crisis and pain I had locked away for basically my entire life. As I become more grounded in this new emotional body, and the new proverbial lenses in which I witness life through, I canโ€™t help but appreciate the irony of studying the nature all around me. Are its roots strong? Is it growing ok? Is the environment right? How does it look and feel? How can we sustain the growth? ๐ŸŠ 2020 transplanted me into a new garden of life and Iโ€™m ready to root down and grow. โœจ

โœจWinter in the Desert ๐Ÿœ๐ŸŒตLiving at the Flower Bungalow has electrified my love for gorgeous fall foliage. ๐Ÿ‚All of the old trees in the neighborhood are turning this vibrant yellow color, including our #pomegranate shrub. After the first frost of the year, they begin to shed their leaves to save energy. Learning that there are +500 varieties of pomegranate = ๐Ÿคฏ. Now what should we do with all this fruit?! #theflowerbungalow โœจ
